Personalized Digital Community Resource Maps Using Google Maps

Digital community resource maps are an excellent user-friendly way to create maps for students, families, districts, schools, universities, or adults with disabilities of local disability services. The best community resource map that I have used is through Google Maps which easily integrates to anyones mobile or electronic device. You can view a sample map that I created for a local school district here. If you notice in the sample image below, resources can be color coordinated and easily filtered to fit the need of the user. This particular map is organized by employment services, medical and health services, home health care, transition services, education, transportation, housing, non-profit organizations, recreation, and veteran services. These maps can be embeded into a classroom, school, or district website or can be shared as a link to students, families, staff members, or community members in need.
